Whether it’s with a computer or PLC. An application file that will not download whether it’s the first or subsequent downloads may be the result of a disconnected communication cable, incorrect baud rate or communication settings. It may also be because of an incorrect COM port selection. These conditions may also result in other symptoms such as no communication with the PLC controller. You may also check the controller itself to see if it is in run mode and the terminal node and maximum node numbers are set correctly. If there is no communication with the PLC but the COMM LED is active, the PanelView may be trying to communicate with a controller at a different address or the inhibit bit is not set correctly. If there is no communication with the computer, first be sure that the computer is not the cause such as a driver not being loaded correctly.Other internal problems such as the clock module battery low message being displayed may be an indication that the internal parameters are corrupt and need to be erased and re-loaded. If an application cannot be transferred to or from a memory card, the card may not be properly installed or may be write protected. The application may be too large for the card or the terminal memory, the memory card or file format may be invalid, or the data checksum may be incorrect.Display or input issues are another area in which problems may occur. If the terminal is operating, but the screen is not visible, the contrast or intensity may need adjustment.
