Standard Turnaround
Our typical turnaround time is 10 working days. However, there are times when a repair will take longer (most often because some needed replacement part just isn't in our extensive inventory). We will make every effort to repair the item within the standard time.
Rush Repairs
At Precision Electronic Services, Inc., we understand the high cost associated with equipment downtime. For this reason, we provide a rush repair service to accommodate your needs. For a fee of 25% (minimum $75.00), we will make every effort to repair and return your item within two business days. If our repair goes beyond this time frame, the additional RUSH REPAIR FEE will not be charged.
Emergency Repairs
If, at your request, your repair requires us to work beyond normal business hours, you will be charged the overtime shop rate (or field service rate, if applicable) for the amount of time a technician is involved with the repair. This charge will apply whether or not the item is repaired. If the normal repair price exceeds this minimum charge, the normal repair charge will apply with additional charges for after-hours service.
Warranty
Precision Electronic Services (PES) regards warranty repairs as a top priority. Our comprehensive warranty policy - one year on all controls is among the best in the industry. During the warranty period PES will repair the unit if it fails in normal operation due to defective workmanship or parts. This warranty will not apply to items that fail due to misapplication, including, but not limited to, improper operation, storage, handling or installation; negligence, abnormal temperature, moisture, dirt or corrosive conditions; or an act of God. The aforegoing is in lieu of any other warranty or guarantee expressed or implied, and we are not responsible for any expense (including installation and removal), inconvenience, or consequential damage, including injury to any person, caused by the unit we repair. In any event PES’ liability, under all circumstances, shall not exceed the cost of the original repair. Warranty periods on items repaired by our established outside sources may vary. You will be contacted for your approval if this is the case.
Return Shipping
Before we ship, all repaired items are placed in anti-static bags, if applicable, and carefully packed to UPS specifications. A documented quality report and warranty statement is sent with each item.
Return freight will normally be prepaid and added to the invoice. We will ship the best way, as determined by us, unless a specific carrier and priority is determined previously by the customer.
Customer is responsible for all shipping charges, regardless of repairability or warranty status.
Price
We provide free price quotes on all in house repairs. All items are carefully evaluated in order to determine the actual repair price.
We’re totally committed to gaining your loyalty as a customer. We know this loyalty must be won by proving to you that we're watching out for your best interest. We've been doing that since we began in 1985, and have enjoyed steady growth as a result.
Many of our competitors publish fixed prices on thousands of models of controls. The only way they can do this is to set prices high enough to cover the worst repair jobs. Do you want to pay an amount which would cover repairing a unit that has been totally “smoked” when your unit may only require a minor repair?
In a small percentage of repairs, we find it necessary to use our established outside sources for repair. In these cases it is sometimes necessary for us to impose an evaluation fee to cover the extra expenses of having the outside source evaluate your item. If we find an evaluation fee to be necessary, we will notify you for your approval.
Payment Terms & Credit Policy
Once a repair quote is approved, we will establish payment terms. Our standard payment terms on approved accounts are NET 30 days from the date of invoice. A 1-1/2% finance charge will be assessed monthly on unpaid invoices after 30 days. To apply for a net 30 account, please fill out a credit application. Credit approval typically takes three working days. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express.

Packing the Carton for Shipment
Once you've selected the right carton, it's time to prepare it for shipping. Here's some advice on how to best secure your package.
Always Provide Internal Protection
Your goal is to surround the items that go inside the carton with a protective cushion. We recommend these steps:
- Wrap each item separately and completely. Fragile articles will require extra wrapping and cushioning. Also, surround any sharp or protruding edges and corners with pieces of corrugated fiberboard; tape in place and then wrap the entire item.
- Place a 2" - 3" layer of cushioning in the bottom of the carton before you put in the wrapped items. Next, position the item in the center of the carton, leaving at least a 2" - 3" void at the top and sides of the carton.
- When packing multiple items, arrange them so that the weight inside the carton is distributed as evenly as possible. Take care to place fragile items away from carton corners and sides.
- Fill all voids inside the carton with cushioning material.
Recommended Cushioning and Protective Materials
- Bubble cushioning (air-encapsulated plastic sheets).
- Paper cushioning (multi-layered paper padding). Ideal for wrapping medium-to-large-sized items and those that may require moisture absorption; excellent for void fill.
- Expanded polystyrene (peanuts). Good for void fill around light-to-medium-weight items, but not acceptable for contents weighing over 70 pounds. Can shift easily during transit, so be sure to use enough to slightly overfill the voids.
- Corrugated dividers. Cross-sections of corrugated fiberboard are joined to create 3-D dividers. Good for layering between stacked items.
- Crumpled kraft paper. Use to fill voids around light-to-medium-weight items. Not acceptable for contents weighing over 70 pounds.
- Foam-in-place. Polystyrene foam is sprayed into boxes and forms a protective mold around the contents.
- Close the Carton Securely. Proper closure is just as vital to protecting your package contents as good cushioning.
Do not use masking tape, cellophane tape or string. Instead, use:
- 2" pressure-sensitive plastic tape, a good general-purpose shipping tape.
- Nylon-reinforced tape. Embedded filaments of nylon add extra strength.
- Water-activated paper tape. Should be 60-pound tape that´s at least 3 inches wide.
- Water-activated reinforced paper tape. Reinforcing fibers add extra strength.
Tape your small carton closed, using the UPS-recommended six-strip taping technique.
Strips 1 and 2: Apply the tape down the length of both middle seams of the carton - where the flaps meet on the top and the bottom.
Strips 3 - 6: Apply the tape to each of the seams on either side of Strips 1 and 2 - on both the top and bottom of the carton.
Heavier items may require an additional strip of tape on all seams. Also, if you´re using water-activated reinforced paper tape, two center-seam strips on both the top and bottom will suffice instead
